On the afternoon of March 26, 2024, Vietnam Machine Investment Development Joint Stock Company (VIMID) had the honor of welcoming a delegation from Lang Son Province, including representatives from the Provincial People’s Committee and leaders of related departments and agencies, for an official visit and working session at the company’s headquarters.
This visit was part of a broader program in which the Lang Son Provincial Delegation met with key enterprises to listen, understand, and address challenges and proposals from businesses engaged in import-export activities through the province. The goal is to facilitate trade operations, remove administrative bottlenecks, and create favorable conditions for companies operating in cross-border trade. As one of the major contributors to the province’s import-export turnover and State budget revenue, VIMID was honored to welcome the delegation, showcasing its ongoing commitment to transparency, compliance, and sustainable business growth aligned with national customs regulations.

During the meeting, Mr. Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Lang Son Provincial People’s Committee, expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm and thoughtful reception extended by VIMID’s Board of Directors and staff. He emphasized that this visit served as a valuable opportunity for both parties to exchange perspectives, address existing challenges, and strengthen the effectiveness of import–export and customs-related activities.

Assessing VIMID’s performance in import–export operations, Mr. Nguyen Quang Bach, Head of the Customs Supervision and Management Division under the Lang Son Customs Department, remarked: “VIMID is one of only four exemplary enterprises selected by the Lang Son Customs Department to participate in the pilot program promoting voluntary compliance with customs laws. To be part of this program, enterprises must meet several stringent criteria set forth by the General Department of Vietnam Customs, including:
VIMID is one of the four exemplary enterprises that have fully met and excellently satisfied all the above criteria. Throughout the implementation of this initiative, we have highly appreciated VIMID’s proactive participation and strong commitment to the program.”
During the same meeting, Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh – Director of the Lang Son Customs Department shared: “As one of the top 100 leading units in Vietnam’s customs sector, the Lang Son Customs Department will continue to promote administrative reform and modernization, with a particular focus on digital transformation and the development of smart customs systems.
Currently, the Department is advising the Provincial People’s Committee to coordinate with the Chinese side in building a smart border-gate system, which is expected to create a major breakthrough in cargo clearance operations. This initiative will bring significant benefits to enterprises by reducing both time and costs in import–export activities.
In the near future, we will continue to work closely with enterprises, especially those engaged in import–export operations, to listen to their challenges and obstacles, and to jointly find solutions that facilitate and support business activities across the province.”

Since the establishment, VIMID has conducted most of the import–export activities through Lang Son Province, particularly via the Huu Nghi International Border Gate and Chi Ma Border Gate. The company has always strictly adhered to state customs laws and fulfilled all tax obligations. For many consecutive years, VIMID has been honored by the Lang Son Provincial People’s Committee for its outstanding contributions to the province’s budget revenue. |
